Goodbye Divebar

Looks like I'm gonna have to say "so long" to the good folks at Divebar. I had some fun, but overall, it was essentially too much responsibility on top of my already insane workload.
Now assuredly they'll all go on to mega-stardom and I will become the Pete Best of Alt Country Rock.
Oh well, at least I'll be the guy on the Behind the Music in 20 years who doesn't have a drug addiction and didn't lose all my money.

Anyways, here's the last show (with me)

Thursday, August 5th
DIVEBAR
w/ Nick Peraino & Blue Moon, The Bad Vibes
@ THE ELBO ROOM
2871 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago
(1 block N of Diversey on Lincoln)
9 pm show. $5. 21+.

Everybody's doin' it...

Hey, is there even the slightest interest in a Mike Norton Sketchbook? I noticed a lot of people selling sketchbooks at SDCC, and was urged by several people to create one... I just didn't know if there was an audience for it. If you have an opinion, make a comment!

Back from the Left Coast

THANKS for coming out to see me and all the people at the ComicCon International in San Diego. Holy Moley was that a crazy time... Between the air being cut to half-power and the show looking like it grew about 20%, I'm surprised I'm awake right now! There seemed to be lots of good response about Queen and Country 26's preview book, and it was cool to actually get to draw a jam sketch with all the other artists that have appeared on the book.

Congrats to Greg on his Gotham Central Eisner award (along with Michael Lark... one of my favorite artists!)

Of course a giant congrats to bud Eric Powell on his Eisner for The Goon! It's been a long time coming in my opinion. Thanks for the "Norton's" Tshirt, man!
